Description
In this essay, Participant 17 shares their experience working in a hospital as a patient care technician. The participant shares sadness and painful experiences of witnessing the loss of many lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. They describe concerns about the stress and terror faced when going to work, and the difficult experience of discussing end of life decisions with family. However, the writer ends the essay with a message of hope. The participant states that everyone at work has grown stronger through this shared experience in this hospital. They write that they have become more appreciative of life and learned to support one another through this tough process.
