Community Conversations: New Jersey’s COVID-19 Storytelling Project is a collaboration between the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance, the New Jersey Department of Health and Healthy NJ 2030. Community Conversations aims to portray COVID’s mostly painful and sometimes hopeful cadences by integrating interviews, focus groups, social media dialogues, creative artworks, journaling, participatory observation, or document analysis.

  • Community Conversations: New Jersey’s COVID-19 Storytelling Project a statewide collective ethnography to gather personal accounts of New Jersey residents of their experiences during the 2020/21 COVID-19 pandemic. The stories were collected by the NJ YMCA State Alliance between July 2020 and March 2021.
I acknowledge and agree that all information I obtain as a result of accessing any oral history, photograph, art work or written word provided by the New Jersey State Library as part of the Community Conversations: New Jersey's COVID-19 Storytelling Project shall be used only for historical or scholarly or academic research purposes, and not for commercial purposes. I understand that any other use of the materials is not authorized by the New Jersey State Library and may exceed the scope of permission granted to the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance by the interviewer, interviewee or submitter. I may request permission for other uses by writing to the New Jersey State Library, which the Library may choose to grant at its discretion. I agree to indemnify and hold the New Jersey State Library harmless for and against any actions or claims that relate to improper use of materials.
