Description
In this interview, Participant 26 discusses how their community organization moved to a remote environment during the COVID-19 pandemic, and offered virtual classes to community members. The participant shares that in some ways the virtual offerings provided their organization with more opportunity to reach and work with more community members. They share fear of losing potential revenue due to cancelled in-person events and fundraisers, but that grants allowed them to maintain all their staff. They shared their perceptions about the digital divide impacting older community members, who they feel are excluded from COVID-19 conversations. Their concerns were about fear among older adults who lack an electronic device to access resources, could not afford internet service, could not communicate with family, and did not know about telehealth.
