Abstract
Description
In this focus group interview, participants share about the impacts they experienced from COVID-19 restrictions, including connecting with their communities remotely and navigating virtual learning and platforms. The participants describe the activities they did individually and with family to address the challenges of COVID-19. They describe their perceptions of inequities of resources, including medical attention, food, and income, and share perceptions of communities were left out of the emergency pandemic response. Participants share where NJ could have provided more resources, such as food drives and resources for online education. Participants ask about what mechanisms or protocols can be in place moving forward in New Jersey, to better prepare and respond to future pandemics and emergencies.
