Vibrio Control Plan : June 1 - August 31, 2026

Abstract

The New Jersey Vibrio Control Plan (VCP) is designed to detail program coordination, stipulate outbreak response, and define post-harvest time and temperature controls for shellfish. It states harvest time to temperature control for tidal, intertidal, and tide-dependent harvests and outlines Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plan requirements. Additionally, the VCP recommends best management practices to minimize risks associated with Vibrio parahaemolyticus (Vp) and Vibrio vulnificus (Vv).
