In this interview, Participant 481 explains that COVID-19 has changed their life in many ways as a healthcare worker. They share that their schedule increased as work became "all hands on deck," and that while this was beneficial financially, it was a source of mental and emotional exhaustion. The participant shares that witnessing the death toll of the pandemic left them feeling less strong, and expresses that they have felt survivor's guilt. They discuss their disappointments in the pandemic response and perceptions on communities that have not equally benefited, particularly with the development of the COVID-19 vaccines.
