Abstract

Description

In this essay, Participant 23 writes about navigating their first pregnancy during the COVID-19 pandemic. The participant shares that their hours were reduced at their job, and their partner was laid off at the early onset of the pandemic. In June of 2020, the participant's partner contracted COVID-19 while working in another state, and could not return for weeks due to quarantine. The pandemic caused financial strains, family separation, and mental health issues which the participant shares have not resolved over time.
