In this interview, Participant 217 shares about experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic as an older adult, and the restrictions and safety precautions they have taken. The participant explains that they have not gone out often, staying physically distanced and using virtual platforms for work meetings. They share acts of kindness that they have received and provided, and express their surprise about how people have reacted to the pandemic and the political climate surrounding it. The participant describes their experience with doctors' appointments and using telehealth, as well as where they received information about COVID-19 and vaccines. They share their perspective that New Jersey has done fairly well in response to the pandemic, but that earlier action could have been taken sooner to prevent the spread.
