dc.descriptionIn this interview, Participant 483 shares their experience navigating the COVID-19 pandemic as a parent of a child on the autism spectrum. The participant describes the challenges and lack of supports that their children faced prior to the pandemic, and has been active in volunteering and advocating for supports, reducing stigma, and expanding vital health resources. They describe difficulties accessing technology, wearing masks, and social distancing, but shares that COVID-19 opened up opportunities for improvement in services and support moving forward.
