Abstract
Description
In this focus group, participants discuss their experience with social isolation and losing loved ones during the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants find solace in being able to connect with others virtually but admit it is not the same as seeing people in-person. One participant shares that they wish there was some leniency in seeing loved ones in the hospital, and that not being able to say goodbye to loved ones who are dying is very traumatic. Participants also discuss how the pandemic affected voting, and talk about COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy within their communities.
