The Site Remediation and Waste Management Program (SRWMP) collected soil samples from 2016 to 2017 to characterize the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) and metal concentrations in New Jersey. Previously, the SRWMP and the Division of Science and Research (DSR) produced a report detailing the results of the PAH analyses. Now, the main objective of this report is to statistically analyze and interpret the metal concentrations in soil at various sites across New Jersey. Another goal is to assess potential relationships between metal concentrations and other parameters including depth of sample, county, population density, distance to nearest known contaminated site, and forested versus open areas.en_US
