dc.descriptionJust south of the Lincoln Park Lake is Casino in the Park, a popular restaurant and banquet hall in Hudson County. Over the years it has had many uses. It was first built to serve as a clubhouse for the tennis courts. Then it was used as a summer museum by the Jersey City Public Library. eventually leased to Ray Dillman, manager of the world famous El Morocco nightclub in New York City. He turned it into a restaurant. Unfortunately it was not a success.Finally it was taken over by Bernie Sweeney and it became a well known restaurant for events in Hudson County. One of the most famous events held here was Frank Sinatra parents' 50th wedding anniversary celebration which was attended by the famous "Rat Pack: Many Democratic political events were held here. One of these hosted the Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton. In 1970 the most important event that was held here was Maureen and my wedding reception. Unfortunately, this building was demolished and a new ugly building has replaced it.
