Abstract
The New Jersey Historic Preservation Office has sponsored a review of published and unpublished materials related to the Native American archaeology of the Upper Delaware Valley as part of an alternative mitigation. This review is the basis for a series of forthcoming topical
essays updating and synthesizing aspects of the archaeological record of Pre-Contact and Contact times in the region. The essays will provide contexts and highlight research issues to aid future academic and cultural resource investigations that involve this portion of the greater Delaware Valley.
