Revolutionary War Reenactment At Jockey Hollow

Each year The National Park Service holds several reenactment of the winter encampments at Jockey Hollow in Morristown National Historic Park. Morristown was extremely important to he Continental Army. Over the years there were approximately 5 winter encampment held here. Two of those were major because the main force of the Continental Army was located here. It was important to Washington because it was here that a large number of supplies were stored for the army. At one time the British placed Morristown as one of the key locations it wanted to capture. Hey never did. This is why Morristown was considered my many as more important that Valley Forge.
