Just over 100 years ago a group of Galicians, the people from the Carpathian Mountains of Austria- Hungry or today Poland and the Ukraine founded this church in Jersey City -Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Church. My grandparents were among the founders of this beautiful church. Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Cathedral is located on Grand Street in the Paulus Hook Section of Jersey City. This historic parish was founded in 1907 by a group of people who migrated from the Eastern Austro-Hungary Empire. Today this magnificent church has been listed as one of the most beautiful churches in the state on New Jersey. It now serves as an Orthodox Cathedral.
