Law Revision Commission
Permanent URI for this collection
With the enactment of N.J.S. 1:12a-1 et seq., the current New Jersey Law Revision Commission was created in 1985, although its work did not begin until 1987. The Commission’s statutory mandate is to simplify, clarify and modernize New Jersey statutes. It does so by conducting an ongoing review of the statutes to identify areas of the law that require revision. The Commission also considers recommendations from the American Law Institute, the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws and other learned bodies as well as members of the legal community and the public.
