The buildings date from as early as the late eighteenth century through to the late nineteenth century and consist primarily of former and current residences along with barns, churches and a former store. The buildings currently house residences for students and instructors as well as workshop spaces, administrative offices, and a craft store associated with Peters Valley Craft Center. The historic district is located within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The buildings are owned by the National Park Service.
