In 1994 it received some notoriety when President Franklin Roosevelt visited Allamuchy and stopped his private railroad car at this freight house. The building was abandoned in 1976 when the Lehigh and Hudson River Railway merged with Conrail. In 2004 the New Jersey Midland Railroad Historical Society and the Allamuchy Township Environmental Committee saved the building and now it is a protected historical site.Original file name 4382079841_b4cbd5eca9_o (1).jpg4368x2696Each photograph within this collection is protected by copyright and/or related rights.
