This room became what in today's music industry calls an Arts and Repertoire Department. It was here where Edison selected songs and artists for his recording catalog. Edison was essentially the first record company executive and producer in that he actually chose the artists and music to be recorded. His philosophy was that good music sells and that the performers personality was not important. Other record companies realized that a personality sells the records, and Edisons Diamond Records was surpassed by others in later years. Edison was a genius at marketing his initial products, but time after time he refused to adapt as the technology changed, often sending him from the top of the financial pyramid to the bottom.Original file name 6797626677_cc9ee3e5ef_o (1).jpeg4368 x 2912Each photograph within this collection is protected by copyright and/or related rights.
