While the volley would send a wall of musket balls flying at the enemy they were not really effective. The main purpose of the volley was to hold fire from the platoons until the enemy came within range and thereby be more effective. Using the volley helps make up for the inaccuracy, slow rate of fire, and limited range of a weapon.Original file name IMG_4106.jpg2925x2912Each photograph within this collection is protected by copyright and/or related rights.
