Trauger, probably a newcomer to the community, built the house during the Civil War period. He owned a small farm and was evidently successful, for his house shows many of the new fashions in architectural styling, all more elaborate than its neighbors, including an entry with heavily moulded panels on the door and considerable ornament in its trim, operating louvered shutters on both stories, a moulding to decorate the cornice and a trim on the windows of the faade with moulding at the heads, although his windows still had no parting bead. The George Trauger HouseMill Brook VillageMillbrook VillageDelaware RiverDelaware Water GapNational Recreation AreaDelaware Water Gap National Water GapCanoeing on the Delaware RiverNational Park ServiceNPSPennsylvaniaPAThe Keystone StateThe SkylandsNJ SkylandsNew Jersey SkylandsLakelandNew JerseyNJJerseyThe Garden State4368 x 2912Each photograph within this collection is protected by copyright and/or related rights.
