The classic bronze colored capitals and crown moldings depict the Art Deco style of the Roaring Twenties. Please note the pink marble and a decorative terrazzo floor. The last structure built for the Medical Center Complex was the residence for graduate and student nurses at the Medical Center. Constructed in 1941, the seventeen-story Art Deco building housed the Center's School of Nursing. It was named for Jessie M. Murdoch, Director of Nurses and friend of Mayor Frank Hague. The structure contained a gymnasium, swimming pool, and auditorium. The last building built on campus in 1941 was a nurses residence named Murdoch Hall.
