The Walpack United Episcopal Methodist Church was built in 1871 on land donated by Jacob S. Roe. This church replaced a smaller stone building which stood in the local cemetery. The church is a tall white Victorian frame structure with white clapboard siding and green trim. The windows and exterior doors are flatly arched with decorative molding. The church steeple originally rose 30 feet above the roof. Throughout the church's lifetime, the steeple was struck by lightning several times and, in the early 1910s, caused the building to catch fire. Luckily, the Flat Brook is just downhill from the church so the residents were able to use it to slow the flames and save the building from burning completely. Eventually, the steeple was removed for safety reasons.
