Abstract

Description

The memorial marks the site where about 60,000 people were evacuated by ferry from Manhattan to New Jersey and received medical attention, water, and food on Sept. 11, 2001, after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. The memorial consists of two trident-shaped beams, which served as supports for the towers, salvaged from the WTC site, which stand 8 feet wide, 30 feet long, and weigh 50,000 pounds. The memorial also includes a lawn, infinity pool and fountain.
