Abstract

Description

The South Mountain Dog Park in the reservation is actually not located in South Orange. It is actually located in the township of Maplewood section of the park because dogs are permitted in any park in South Orange. This 2 acre facility opened in July 2006 and has a 1.3 acres section for large dogs and a 0.7 acres for small dogs. Both areas have a crushed stone and compacted stone dust surface, dual drinking fountains, park benches, agility equipment for the dogs, a wash and spray area, time out sections for dogs, and DogiPot stations. As you looks passed the entrance to the Park you will see a memorial honoring the dogs that lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 tragedies.
