dc.descriptionEdward C. Knight Cottage is one of two identical homes located in Cape May Historic District. The other is Joseph R. Evans Cottage. They are located next to each other. They were built in 1892. Edward C. Knight, a coffee and sugar importer, was one of the richest men in Philadelphia. He was instrumental in rebuilding Congress Hall after the Great Fire of 1878.
