Description

Exchange of letters in the Newark daily advertiser, Dec. 1845-Feb. 1846, concerning the shooting of James Caldwell by a military sentinel, James Morgan, at Elizabeth-town Point in 1781. The writers include Samuel Miller, Nicholas Murray, and W.C. DeHart. Included is an extended account of Revolutionary events, "Passages in the history of Elizabethtown" (p.6-13) from the Daily Advertiser of Feb. 6, 1846.
