Description
The Seymour R. Smith House sits elevated above the old Waterloo Valley Road, surrounded by tall,old trees.
The front of the house faces south and is set back from the dirt road on a significant rise, overlooking both the Morris Canal and the slow-moving Musconetcong River. It is directly opposite the Smith general store that sits between the road and the Morris Canal.
The house, was also known as the Wellington House, was named in honor of the British General Wellington who won the Belgian battle against French General Napoleon Bonaparte on June 15, 1815.
