dc.descriptionPrior to 1953 women were not allowed to participate in the Grand Entry Parade at a pow wow. Today they follow the male dances into the circle. They are normally dresses in long, beautiful buckskin or trade cloth dresses adorned with meaningful design, Unlike the male dances, in their dances women move in a stationary manneror with steady, short steps.
