Abstract

Description

This station was dedicated as the Frank R. Lautenberg Rail Station at Secaucus Junction and opened on December 15, 2003. It is a major commuter rail hub in Secaucus, serving trains from all New Jersey Transit Rail lines except the Princeton Branch and Atlantic City Line, and also serves the Metro-North Railroad Port Jervis Line. This $450 million, 321,000-square-foot station is unlike other New Jersey Transit rail stations because it was specifically built as a transfer point allowing passengers to transfer between trains on nine of the agency's commuter rail lines.
