Description

Casino Pier boasts having one of America's classic carousels. This beautiful 115 years old antique carousel with its colorful hand carved horses has recently been lovingly restored. The carousel was brought from Burlington to Seaside Heights in 1932. It was placed in an open frame building It features hand-carved figures, including some made as early as 1890 by carousel manufacturers G.A. Dentzel and Charles I.D. Looff. This picture was taken in the carousel building at the Casino Pier. Recently the carousel was moved to a new museum pavilion at the north end of the boardwalk. This pavilion also serves as the Seaside Heights Museum.
