dc.descriptionStevens Institute of Technology is a private research university, founded in 1870. it is one of the oldest technological universities in the United States and was the first college in America solely dedicated to mechanical engineering. The Gatehouse, built circa 1835, once served as the grand entrance for Stevens Castle, and is the last remaining structure of the Stevens family estate. In 2016, it completed a reconstruction and restoration.
