| dc.description | The fourth pedestrian bridge over the falls was built in 1868. It was 85 feet long and made of iron. This bridge, unlike the previous three structures, accommodated tourists by providing an open view of the waterfall. The Fifth Bridge over the falls opened in December 1888. It was built by the Passaic Water Company, serving pedestrians for decades. It would later be repurposed to support waterlines. The bridge remains to this day, and if you look carefully you can see it in this picture. | |
