Abstract
Description
The Dale building was acquired by The Historical Society and moved to the property in 2001.
Bay Head's reputation was partially built on the accomplishments of the sailors and maritime professionals who loved the excitement and the danger of the open sea. This Slade Dale cottage is, in part, a celebration of those sailors.
In particular it pays homage to a local man who, was a noted sailor in the area and who continued throughout his life to engage in truly memorable sea voyages and bay race
In his life, Dale was constantly setting out to challenge expectations and break records whenever he could. Eventually he would build his dream marina, the Dale Yacht Basin, through his foresight of bringing outboard motors to the area
Today, the college commemorates the history and celebrates the love of the water.
