| dc.description | (My pictures of historic Photos of Jersey Central Railroad Yards) Officially known as The Greenville Yards , this section of the Jersey City waterfront was originally developed in 1904 by the Pennsylvania Railroad, it was later taken over by Conrail. For many railroads, the New Jersey waterfront was as close as they would be able to get to the downtown New York City area of Manhattan.
