On Monday July 13th Governor Corzine discussed the findings of a new Rutgers report on pre-school success in New Jersey with parents, teachers and community leaders at Eugenio Maria de Hostos Center for Early Childhood Education in Union City. The Governor detailed some of the studies findings, showing that children who attended Abbott preschool education programs outperformed their peers in first and second grades, and children who had two years of preschool rather than just one had double the advantages. Preschool attendees also performed better in oral language, math and conceptual knowledge. Parents with children enrolled in the program shared some of their own success stories at the meeting.
