dc.descriptionSwan Paddle Boats were first introduced by Robert Paget in the 1870s in Boston. Common Garden. At first they were a catamaran-style boat. Passengers sit on benches in front of the captain. The boat was foot-propelled like a bicycle attached to a paddle wheel. The Swan Boats at South Mountain Reservation hold two people.
