This is a portrait by Charles William Peale in the Visitors Center. It depicts the dapper commander of the 2nd Pennsylvania Line Regiment in the blue and red uniform of the Pennsylvania Line. The background shows the order of encampment specified for the Continental Regiment in Baron von Steuben's Regulations.
