Abstract
Description
In the early 1940's George Ressetar painted this beautiful icon of the Trinity located above the Iconostasis in the church. It depicts God the Father , The Son, and The Holy Spirit
This depiction of the Trinity has sometimes been called "The New Testament Trinity". It depicts the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit distinctly. Christ may be shown as an adult sitting to the right of his Father. The Father is painted as the Ancient of Days, a white-bearded man while the Holy Spirit is shown as a white dove. The dove may be placed between the Father and the Son, who sit near each other at the same level, while the dove is shown in a beam of light. For the Russian Orthodox Church, depicting the Holy Trinity in art has been an issue of controversy for the past thousand years. A classically Byzantine portrayal of the Holy Trinity,
