The church is not a large building. Many people might consider it the size of a chapel.
Initially the Orthodox Church of America was a branch of the Russian Orthodox Church. In 1970 The Russian Orthodox granted complete self-government to the Orthodox of America which made it a fully independent, local Orthodox church.
