dc.descriptionThis is a New York Waterway Ferry on route from Port Imperial to Brookfield Place / Battery Park City terminal. In the background is the Jersey City Skyline. It was the Waterway ferry crews that reacted instantly to the crash of US Airways Flight 1549, into the Hudson River. Their action saved 143 of the 155 passengers and crew pulled from the water in the Miracle on the Hudson, the most successful marine rescue in aviation history.
