The popular area is located at the base of the two mountains that form the stunning geologic feature known as the Delaware Water Gap, along the banks of the Delaware River, making it a very popular destination for visitors. It has become a place where a high number of visitors flock to on weekends to enjoy the view . The site simply was not designed for the large crowds that arrive.
