| dc.description | An iconostasis is a screen or wall adorned with tiers of holy icons that separates the nave from the sanctuary in the Orthodox Church. Some say the tradition of an Iconostasis goes back to the Temple in Jerusalem which separated the Holy of Holies from the rest of the temple. As you look around the church you will note that it appears to be a wooden building. This interior design reflects the tradition of many Orthodox Churches built of logs in Russia and Alaska. | |
