dc.description | The house is a center hall colonial. This would normally be used as the dining room. Mrs Ford gave up most of her home to Washington and moved her bedroom furniture into the dining room of the mansion. This is how her room would have looked on Christmas Day 1779. Mrs. Ford probably chose to keep the dining room and the sitting room for her family because it provided them easy access to the kitchen and pantry. | |
