Description

Starting on the top left is the famous John V. Kenny, the last of the great Hudson County political bosses. Below him is Bernard J. Berry who became famous for stopping a rock concert in Roosevelt Stadium. In the center in the top row is Mayor Charles Witkowski. He is the grandfather of Jerry O'Connell the actor. Thomas Gangemi was the first Italian Mayor , he had to resign because it was discovered he wasn't a citizen. Thomas Whelan was Mayor during 1963-1971. He was removed after being convicted. Charles K. Krieger served as interim mayor between Aug.-Nov. 197i.
