dc.description | The Fairmount Apartments, also known as the Grand Lady of Jersey City and The Fairmount Hotel is located on Kennedy Boulevard in the Bergen Section of Jersey City. The buildings were designed by the firm of Newman and Harris. The eastern section was constructed in 1909 and the western section was built in 1912. It was purchased in 1962 by Father Divine. In 1995 the building was converted into 59 apartments for senior citizens. the building are listed on The U.S. National Register of Historic Places and the New Jersey Register of Historic Places | |
