dc.descriptionLocated behind the locomotive is the former Rogers Locomotive and Machine Works Building. Between 1832 and 1905 the company built more than 6,000 steam locomotives for railroads around the world. Its most famous locomotive was "The General" which was one of the principals of the Great Locomotive Chase of the American Civil War. In front of the building is Panama Railroad #299. Today the building serves as the home of the Paterson Museum.
