Abstract
Description
Similar to a modern family room, the sitting room was the casual gathering spot in an 18th-century home.
Mrs. Fords three sons, Timothy, 17; Gabriel, 15; and eight year-old Jacob, probably made this their bedroom during Washingtons occupation of the house
Gabriel enjoyed hunting and collecting souvenirs from the soldiers.
The room was also used as a passageway between the kitchen and the living room.
