dc.description | NY Waterway's Weehawken Port Imperial Ferry Terminal, a state-of-the-art facility opened in 2006. It combines architectural design and marine engineering. This terminal serves as the New Jersey gateway from the New York Ferry Terminal, facilitating interconnections with the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail System. It is designed to accommodate for the anticipated future growth of the Weehawken ferry passenger commuter service, serving approximately 20,000 commuters each day. The 21,000 sq. ft. first floor is devoted to passenger service functions, including ticket counters, retail shops, a caf� and waiting room. The second floor contains an additional waiting room and operational facilities for the New York Waterway. | |
