The high-backed bench or settle protected sitters from drafts and kept them warm. They were normally placed in front of the fireplace.
Beautiful pair of wall sconces located to the left and right of the settle. These brass sconces are Dutch and made sometime in the late 17th or early 18th century.
The Hepplewhite Clock was made in England in the late 18th or early 19th century. It is mahogany with inlays of brass work by Wilson Birmingham.
